Physical Education
Our PE & Wellness program is designed to be fun, creative, and engaging, while also promoting teamwork and collaboration among students. Through a variety of physical activities such as team sports, individual fitness challenges, and yoga, our class emphasizes the importance of regular exercise and its many benefits. Moving your body has been proven to have a positive impact on academic performance, memory retention, and overall well-being.
In our PE & Wellness program, students not only learn about the benefits of physical activity but also participate in activities that promote the development of key social and emotional skills such as communication, cooperation, and perseverance. Our goal is to help students develop a lifelong love of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.
We also understand the importance of incorporating wellness practices into our class. Our students learn about mindfulness, stress management, and nutrition to promote a holistic approach to health and well-being.
Our experienced and passionate instructor is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment where every student feels supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. Students acquire the knowledge and skills to take responsibility for their health and wellbeing by learning different kinds of exercise, practicing proper form, engaging in collaborative teamwork, and preparing and planning fitness activities. Students participate in cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility through team sports, individual activities, and conditioning.
Physical education includes a variety of team sports including soccer, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, basketball, badminton, pickleball, and more. Students will also ice skate, ski, dance, practice yoga, and do circuit training. We believe it is necessary for students to develop cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills to be successful learners. Sportsmanship and confidence building are important components of our physical education curriculum.
